Welcome

New York City is reimagining its jails as civic assets that will provide a better life for those who are detained and work in them, support smoother transitions back home, and serve as resources for the community.

Representatives from the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ), Department of Correction (DOC), and the project’s Design-Build Team have summarized how the previous community feedback was incorporated into the design and collected additional feedback during the Community Design Workshop #2 held at the Helen Marshall Cultural Center on March 27, 2025

This online platform is being made available to provide community members with an opportunity to provide feedback on the facility design process. This platform is intended to augment the in-person workshop and allow anyone unable to attend in person the chance to review and comment on design materials. The comment period on this website will close on Thursday, April 17th, at 11:59 p.m.
